Red is the new black.

This dress by Chloe is kinda butch and femme at the same time. Looks really comfy too.

But more importantly: are we doing red accents with bridal wear now? I mean, I wish I could like it, seems like something I OUGHT to like...?

UPDATE: It seems we are doing red accents with bridal wear now. I'll just have to get used to it.

Refreshing.

I usually HATE Diane Von Furstenburg. Floaty chiffon dresses with big prints, lots of ruffles, and devil-may-care finish. Yuk.

But this coat is pretty deadly. (And props to Net-a-Porter for the styling).

Goooood morning.

What an excellent way to start the day.

Gorgeous vintage wedding presents from Shutterbug!

As seen on tv.

Purchased at the Dublin Flea Market (or as my fiance calls it, the largest, most dedicated gathering of hipsters he's ever seen in his life.)

Indeed, there WERE a lot of lensless glasses and vegan food and irony. But isn't this thing the coolest?

Dream weddings by Clare.

I just had to link to this blog post on w i t n e s s, because it is simply the most comprehensive, expansive, multi-facented wedding fantasy I've had the opportunity to read about.

I want to live in her imagination (or at least get married in it.)

(Dress pictured above by Alberta Ferretti).

Tim Ryan @ Bow.

As if Bow weren't already one of the most inspirational boutiques in Dublin, they're now stocking pieces by Irish-born knitwear designer Tim Ryan.

Wedding cover-ups: pt. 2.

Rock a jacket.

When you begin to explore the fashion niche that is bridal "cover ups", you start to hear very scary, dowdy words like "shrug" and "bolero." (Shudder)

Unless your 65 or a matador, you shouldn't really buy something called a "bolero"!

Very trendy for alternatives for brides include a black biker jacket, a vintage fur stole, or a military inspired wool blazer.

Some of my favorite bridal "cover ups" lately:

Neoclassical blazer by Anthropologie: 115 euro.

Golden Fleece Bolero (yes, they're calling it a bolero which makes me a hypocrite, but it this is the ONE. EXCEPTION.) by Taikonku at Anthropologie: $150.
Vintage fur stole by Gabriella New York: $595.

Feather capelet by Cassin, at Bergdorf Goodman: $1,240.

J.Crew, and I don't care!

I don't care if it's a high street, mass produced brand (in this instance anyway.) In the months I was looking for a dress, I never came across ANY as lovely as these.

Street Style by Quinn.

One of the high points of my week is Emily Quinn's Street Style on the Weekly Edit.

And if you are the girl pictured here, just wanted you to know, YOU ARE SO CUTE IT HURTS.

Seriously, Miu Miu?

As far as I'm concerned, this is strike two from Miu Miu this season for completely taking the fucking piss.

This cotton... yes COTTON... sweater has a tiny strip of satin sewn to the bottom, and they're charging $515 for it.

Alors on danse.

An awesome playlist a month from Los Angeles DJ The Flash Dance.

In honour of the blouse.

Designed by Newry native Sophie Hamilton and half-French, half-English Charles Sebline, Hamilton-Paris is the way to go if you want to invoke Jackie-O in her 1970's, NYC, magazine editor years.

Some for sale at Matches.

Bonzie.

Achingly romantic corsets, tanks, boleros, and accessories by Waterford based Bonzie Designs. While some of the detailing could be a bit much for any occasion other than a wedding, the tanks could be suitable for the office if paired with a sharp black blazer and jeans.

PS: Bonzie will be one of the vendors at Absolut Style @ Set Easter weekend... alternatively, they have an online shop.

Absolut Style @ Set.

Going to be heading down to Kilkenny for this on Easter weekend. I know, we're moving, we're supposed to be getting RID of stuff, not getting MORE stuff... but still, I can walk around and sip a coffee and covet.

Langton’s SET theatre, designed by David Collins interiors, is an opulant and charismatic space, which will be reflected in the feel of the ABSOLUT Style at Set weekend. Elsa & Gogo.

Olivia Murphy's West Cork based vintage shop Elsa & Gogo has lots of elegant treasures, most under 40 euro. You can also buy online, which is great for lazy hermits, like myself.

Pearl & Godiva.

Cork-based Pearl & Godiva offer vintage china hire and event styling, so you can turn any party into a super-femme tea party.

Might not be able to convince a male fiancee to agree to such a flowery table design, but if a) he's open minded, or b) you're a bridezilla, or c) you're marrying another lady, this magical tea-party scenario could be YOURS.
